A guitar, two voices, and a playlist that moves between English and Sinhala without anyone having to ask. Built for destination weddings and the long, unhurried evenings either side of them.
Two players who have spent enough evenings together that the handover stops being visible.
Authentic is a duo out of Colombo. Nylon string guitar and voice, playing rooms rather than stages: restaurants where the tables are still full at eleven, private houses, and the slow hours of a wedding after the formalities are done.
The repertoire is deliberately mixed. English standards and current material sit next to Sinhala songs the local half of the room grew up with, and the switch happens mid set rather than being announced.
